Leslie Mathews is a therapist, coach, and founder of The LooM Life, where she helps people weave together mindfulness, clarity, joy, and authentic living during life’s biggest transitions.

I’m Leslie Mathews, a therapist, coach, podcaster, and founder of The LooM Life. I help people untangle patterns and old programming that keep them stuck and weave together mindful lives of clarity, joy, and authentic connection. With a background as an attorney, mindfulness coach, and trauma-informed therapist, I bring a rare mix of legal savvy, clinical expertise, and lived experience to my work. I’m also the host of Pulling Threads, a podcast where I explore stories of trauma, resilience, identity, and how we create meaning in our lives. My journey—from growing up poor, abandoned by my father, diagnosed with a chronic illness in childhood, divorced in my 40s, and breaking trauma bonds to reimagining love, motherhood, and a fulfilling career—shapes the deeply human lens I bring to every conversation. I meet people where they are with compassion, clarity, and practical tools. As a guest, I can: Demystify Mental Health: I make complex psychology and neuroscience (like trauma, attachment, or polyvagal theory) accessible, offering listeners “aha!” moments they can actually use. Guide Through Life Transitions: Divorce recovery, dating after heartbreak, co-parenting, or reinventing yourself at midlife—I help audiences see what’s possible when we slow down, heal, and choose differently. Blend Science and Soul: My work bridges mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and holistic practices (including astrology and human design when appropriate) in a way that feels grounded and approachable. Tell Real Stories: I share vulnerably from my own life—27 years of motherhood, divorce, golf as a mindfulness practice, and building a business from scratch—so listeners feel seen and less alone. Some Suggested Topics & Angles Breaking free from trauma bonds and reclaiming your voice The hidden mental health toll of divorce (and how to navigate it) Why women attach differently after sex (oxytocin vs. dopamine explained simply) Finding yourself again at 40+ and redefining “having it all” The intersection of mindfulness and modern life (MBSR, golf, or parenting as a practice) How therapists and coaches can show up with more authenticity in their work
