I’m Jennifer Finch, musician, writer, and cultural storyteller. Best known as the bassist for L7, I’ve spent decades navigating the worlds of punk rock, performance, and creativity. These experiences gave me not just wild stories, but also a front-row seat to resilience, collaboration, and transformation. Today, I channel those experiences into writing, visual arts, and projects like Sh!t My Rockstar Says and Courage Is The Change. My work blends music, culture, and recovery with a grounded sense of humor and a passion for exploring how people find their voice—even in the most unexpected places. I love conversations that cut past small talk. Whether it’s about creativity, identity, recovery, or the cultural shifts shaped by punk and DIY communities, I bring honesty, irreverence, and perspective. My goal is always the same: to connect, inspire, and spark curiosity.

I just love sitting and listening to people talk about their regular lives.
Storytelling is how people actually connect with each other — it always has been.
I can just sit and listen to anyone talk about their regular day and I love it.
I think storytelling is the oldest way we actually connect with each other.
I made a Spotify playlist of every song I thought I loved, and going back through it is really funny.
I think storytelling is the oldest way humans actually connect with each other.
I genuinely love sitting and listening to someone talk about their regular day.
I think media literacy should help kids figure out what they actually value, not just what to avoid.
I hated Consumer Ed as a kid but now I wish we had the digital version of it.
I think every generation has bad media, so the answer is education, not banning it.
