The bees healed me, so I built a business honoring them. Beekeeper, apitherapist, and founder of The Apiarian Home. Let's talk hive medicine, wellness, and what bees teach us.

Hi! I'm Netta Caligari, founder of The Apiarian Home, a Colorado-based wellness brand inspired by the wisdom and medicine of the honeybee. I'm a beekeeper, a certified apitherapist, and I left a long career in tech and brand strategy to follow what the bees were trying to teach me. My journey to this work began with healing. Back in 2018, after a major surgery threw my hormones completely out of whack, I was dealing with skin breakouts and digestive issues that nothing seemed to fix. On a hunch I cannot fully explain, I turned to the hive. I started taking honey, propolis, royal jelly, and bee pollen by the spoonful and applying it to my skin, and within a few weeks my body felt like mine again. I was honestly stunned. That experience cracked something open in me. If the bees could do that for my body, what else were they capable of? I started studying hive medicine, set up my first hive in my backyard, fell in love with beekeeping, and have been deepening this work ever since. Today, The Apiarian Home offers handcrafted, beeswax-infused home fragrances inspired by the roles within the colony, along with apitherapy consultations for people interested in working with hive medicine for wellness. Every product I make is rooted in reciprocity. A portion of every sale supports habitat restoration, policy advocacy, and pollinator education. Honeybees engage all of our senses in profound ways, and scent is one of the most powerful portals we have. It can ground us in an instant, pull us back into our bodies when we have drifted too far into our heads, and shape how a space actually feels. That is why I started with fragrance. There is so much more to come from the hive, but scent was the doorway in. I love conversations about: - Hive medicine and apitherapy, including honey, propolis, royal jelly, bee venom, and the rest of the gifts the hive provides - What honeybees can teach us about love, friendship, boundaries, community, and how we show up for ourselves and each other - Natural wellness, scent as a healing portal, and clean alternatives to synthetic fragrance - Beekeeping, hive culture, and the magic of the colony as a living, breathing superorganism - The bigger story of how we reconnect to nature in a world that constantly pulls us away from it - Pollinator advocacy, why bees matter, and what each of us can do to help Looking forward to connecting! Bee well.
