I was raised in a close neck Catholic family were hard work integrity to form the roots of my family tree growing up in Rome, Missouri. I developed a deep appreciation for faith, family, and a simple traditions that shaped life. Some of my fondest memories are found in the family recipes that were passed down not the written instruction, but through loving hands, share kitchens and time spent together from grandpa‘s homemade blackberry wine to grandma‘s chicken and dumplings perfected over more than 55 years. These traditions taught me that love is often expressed and everyday moments. As a mother of a child with an eating disorder, I have learned many navigations and triumphed the mountains of the disorder. That eating disorder took a toll on me and my family and we were at the base of Ma‘s hierarchy needs and yet we survived. I want to give hope,faith comfort, and education to others about mental health, eating disorders having the faith and perseverance to overcome “their mountains” and comfort to know they are not alone .
