I'm Gwendolyn Dolske, Philosophy professor, podcast host, and author. I have taught at the university level for two decades, but my work has never stayed inside the classroom. Philosophy, to me, is a living practice, something you bring to every conversation, every question, every decision about how to live. That conviction is what led me to podcasting, and it's what drives every episode of Good Is In The Details. About Good Is In The Details Good Is In The Details is a philosophy, books, and ideas podcast I've hosted for five years, with 190+ episodes and guests ranging from neurosurgeons and law professors to comedians. We've explored free will, consciousness, bioethics, existentialism, surveillance law, the philosophy of film, gender and relationships, the ethics of AI, and what it means to live an examined life, all in the spirit of Socrates, with the aim of a more knowledgeable, curious, and fulfilling life. The show has been downloaded over 2,000 times per month, our most downloaded Spotify episode in 2025 was a rigorous philosophical conversation on asexuality and romantic love, and our audience is engaged, educated, and genuinely hungry for depth. I've interviewed philosophers from Oxford, GWU law professors, sociologists, poets, and novelists, and I've learned something from every single one of them. What I Bring as a Guest As a guest, I bring three things: Academic depth. I hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy and have published academic work and classroom guides used in college humanities courses. When I speak about ethics, Philosophy of Sex & Love, free will, epistemology, or the philosophy of everyday life, I'm drawing on serious scholarly grounding. Real on-mic experience. With 190+ episodes hosted, I know what it feels like to be on both sides of the microphone. I understand the rhythm of a good conversation, I know how to follow a thread, and I know when to sit in silence and let an idea breathe. Accessibility without dumbing down. This is my specialty. The ability to take genuinely complex philosophical ideas, the kind that fill entire graduate seminars, and make them feel vivid, relevant, and even urgent for a general audience is what I've spent my entire career developing. Your listeners don't need a philosophy degree to leave the conversation thinking differently. That's the promise I bring to every appearance.
