Jen Conrad is the author of Finding God in the Trenches: A Memoir of Compounded Grief, Unshakable Love, and the Beauty That Still Remains. She writes for the woman who looks like she is holding it all together but privately wonders where God was when everything fell apart. As a Marine spouse of 29 years, a mom to three boys, and a woman who has walked through more grief than she ever expected to carry, Jen knows what it feels like to keep showing up while quietly unraveling inside. Her story includes the loss of her mother to COVID, the collapse of a business and the identity tied to it, the heartbreak of an international adoption that crossed oceans but could not come home, years of military life and deployments, and a long season of numbing pain while trying to find her way back to herself and to God. Jen does not write from a place of polished answers or perfect healing. She writes from inside the process, with honesty, faith, and deep compassion for women who are grieving, rebuilding, questioning, and learning to believe that beauty can still remain. Her work speaks especially to Christian women, military spouses, mothers, grieving daughters, and anyone who has carried layered loss while still trying to lead, love, and show up for the people around them. Through her writing, speaking, and community work, Jen creates space for honest conversations about grief, faith, disappointment, resilience, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going. At the heart of Jen’s message is a simple but powerful reminder: God was not absent in the trench. He was there the whole time.
