My name is Matt Smith! I am a new Country Singer Songwriter still learning the ropes! I have been inspired by so many country music legends growing up and have had a dream of becoming a singer songwriter, and following in the footsteps of all of the greats! My biggest Idols in country music consist of Steve Earle, Johnny Cash, Don Schlitz, Dean Dillon, George Strait, Merle Haggard, and Brantley Gilbert! I have had a love for country music since I could walk constantly singing to the radio at the top of my lungs, my papa gave me my first guitar when I was 5 and I am 30 now and that guitar sits on a stand in the corner to this very day! My papa was my biggest fan my biggest motivator and taught me everything I know from playing guitar how to treat a woman and how to write a song! I chase this dream as a tribute to him and the love we shared for the same thing! Country Music!!!! His dream has always been to watch me grow from the little boy he gave that guitar to into an artist standing in the spot light on a grand ole opry stage! My papa passed away in 2022 and it took me a bit to find the courage to pick it up again, until one day It has been a whole novel long story in itself! But from that day I picked it back up and before growing up songwriting and the passion for telling my stories through songs with the urge to want to help others relate to my songs and those who may have needed these words and not even know it! It’s the kind of fuel that lights my fire I love to meet people and share my love with the world and I hope to get the opportunity to share ever detail with the world some day I am just so blessed and humble to have the opportunity to chase this dream not only for myself but for my papa and most importantly the folks who need it most!
