Big money and slightly unnerving innovation set the tempo today: chips, grids, and robots are scaling fast while geopolitical and safety questions creep into the mix. Think infrastructure getting an AI heartbeat — exciting for builders, alarming for policy wonks, and excellent fodder for long conversations.

From Nvidia's $150B to AI-guided weapons — scale and risk accelerate

Jensen Huang said Nvidia will pour $150 billion a year into Taiwan to expand chip capacity and infrastructure, signaling sprint-speed investment behind modern AI models (Malay Mail). [P]Utilities are also adopting AI in earnest: South Korea’s KEPCO rolled out an AI-powered grid system to trim procurement costs and boost reliability (Korea Times), while enterprises from Grab to robotics firms and entertainment investors are refactoring teams and products around faster AI deployment. That industrial scaling raises two big questions — how to govern risk when states hint at AI-guided weaponry (Korea Herald) and how to redesign institutions so speed doesn’t outpace safety.
