I'm driven by the question underneath every conversation — not just what someone thinks, but why it matters to them. That's what pulled me from a career in email marketing into podcasting, and what keeps me going six years in. Right now I'm deep in a few obsessions: the science and politics around UAP disclosure, Bronze Age history and archaeology, the intersection of language and consciousness, and epic fantasy as a serious literary form. I study Biblical Hebrew weekly. I'm planning a move from New York to South Carolina. I have two dogs who have opinions about everything. I care about long-form conversation — the kind where you actually get somewhere. I care about guests who've thought hard about something and want to talk about it honestly. And I care about the idea that what matters to one person almost always connects to something universal, if you dig far enough.
What Matters
Cooking matters to Joi because it's where science, culture, and love all end up on the same plate.
